New to Walthamstow? What you need to register with a GP

If you have recently moved to Higham Hill, Blackhorse Road, Lloyd Park or elsewhere in Waltham Forest, registering with a local GP practice is one of the most useful things to sort out early. It means your records are in the right place before you need care.

What you need

• Your name, date of birth and current address
• Your NHS number if you know it, although this is not required
• Details of any regular medication and ongoing conditions

You do not need proof of address, photographic identification, an NHS number or proof of immigration status to register with us. Registration is free, and we also accept registrations from people living outside our usual practice area.

How long it takes

Most people complete the online registration form in around five minutes. Once we have processed it we will confirm your registration, and your previous records are requested automatically. If you take regular medication, let us know so we can make sure your repeat prescriptions continue without a gap.
